‘Merrion Square offers a unique chance to be inspired this Christmas through the launch of a unique new shopping trail and a special pop-up shop showcasing the best of Irish designed gifts and artisan food, all designed to help you uncover extra special gifts this Christmas – and meet the Irish makers and producers.
The pop-up shop, a collaboration between the Merrion Square Innovation Network and the Irish Design Shop, will open for one day only on Saturday December 1st in the splendid surroundings of the Irish Architectural Archive at No. 45 Merrion Square, and will mark the launch of a Merrion Square Shopping Trail that will highlight the most unusual and Irish gift opportunities to be found in the neighbourhood.’

The National Crafts and Design fair runs from the 5th to the 9th of December, and my stand will be a rainbow of colour for Christmas. There will be lots of gorgeous treats for you and great gift ideas. I hope to see you at the show!

I’m really excited about spending the week down in Galway as part of the Style Platform at the Volvo Ocean race. My work will be available to buy for the next 9 days in the Fashion pavillion in the Global Village. There will be lots of nautical inspired Knits for sale all week!

On Friday July 6th, 2012 Galway city will play host to the ultra glamorous Volvo International Design Collective Fashion Show, with a glittering fashion show which will take place in the Global Arena in The Global Village. I will also be showing 6 new one-off hand crocheted pieces from Spring/Summer 2012!
A photo of one of my pieces was in The Irish Times to day (and on the Irish Times website) taken yesterday at The Showcase Fashion Show.
‘PRESIDENT MICHAEL D Higgins yesterday joined the Crafts Council of Ireland in urging people to seize opportunities offered by the booming craft industry. Opening Showcase 2012 – Ireland’s Creative Expo at the RDS, Mr Higgins said “post-hedge funds”people were “once again beginning to value skill and craftsmanship”. He praised the 450 exhibitors at the expo saying they combined traditional designs with “new materials, new applications” in what was “a celebration of creativity”.
Included in the exhibition are emerging and established Irish brands from Tipperary Crystal, to design-led fashion and knitwear, jewellery, gifts and interiors. Some 5,500 buyers are expected to attend the exhibition which runs until Wednesday, with orders expected to be worth in the region of €20 million. It was, the President said, “a tribute to those who refused to be defeated by the economic downturn”.’

The new website and photoshoot arrived just in time for Showcase 2011! I’m still getting a few pieces ready for the annual craft trade show that runs from 23rd to 26th of January, at the RDS. You can find me in the Creative Island (Stand C73).
I will be showing Spring/Summer 2011 and Autumn/Winter 2011.
Spring/Summer is all about escape: soft peachy colours, new cotton/cashmere yarn mixes, candy stripes, innocent embroidery and cute buttons.
Autumn/Winter is more Gothic and dramatic. Based on my collection of second hand knitting books and my favourite 80’s knitwear designers. Lots of fairisle, lurex, mohair and ruffles. I will be selling dresses and vests as part of the collection for the first time. V excited!
