The south east of Ireland is a dynamic centre for craft and GIFTED 2010 will feature work by a number of makers from this area: Marcus O’Mahony and Paul Maloney (ceramics), Patsy Flood O’Connor (hats), Barbara and Irene Kelly (baskets), Guilty Lillie by Kate Murphy and Madeleine Hellier (jewellery), Terry the Weaver, Ann Duggan, and Ceadogan Rugs (constructed and woven textiles), and Bevel Furniture. Also on display will be ceramics by Sara Flynn and James and Tilla Waters, jewellery by Nuala Jamieson, and furniture by Erich Fichtner and Colm Hassett, hand bound books by Hubert Bookbinders, textiles by Heather Finn and candles by Moth to a Flame.
For the first time, this year’s show will also include a range of stunning products from small Irish businesses including beauty products from Roseacre Soaps, children’s clothing and toys from Little Fish, specialised tea products by Kingfisher Tea, and beautiful clothes, bags and toys from Juliana Walters’ gallery/shop, Place in Gorey, Co. Wexford, and furniture from O’Toole’s Furniture.
This exhibition is also supported by Coracle – Creative Oracle project connecting creativity between South East Ireland and South West Wales part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Ireland Wales Programme 2007-2013 (INTERREG 4A).
